This is the forest that I was able to visit this May in N. Vietnam that my friends were still uncovering from the giant piece of land (small province) that they have been accessing (trailblazing) into for the last 3 years.
The trees are said to be in the 600-800 years range, are completely unpruned/unmanaged, and is some of the cleanest tea I've ever had a chance to drink.
This Shengcha is among the finest young ancient tree "puerh" I've ever experienced. I paid top dollar for a single kilo and I am not sure if there will be more this season.
The tea is very sweet, of sugarcane, ephemeral floral and fruit notes, immaculate texture and smooth finish. There is absolutely no astringency or bitterness unless you brew it tough- perfect for those looking for a smooth drinking sheng with deep energetics.
The chi is fantastic. It runs deep into the body and seems to open every channel. While powerful, there is never a sense of agitation- it is deeply comfortable in the body.
This may be one of the purest tea sources available, in terms of complete lack of human influence- as we know a lot of wild tree and ancient tree are typically influenced in some small ways to get more yield (see: ovenergetic. Tea of this quality typically only comes from private sellers who have small rural farms that aren't commercially farming their forest tea.
The approach to this farm was a 3 hour STEEP hike UP into the 1400m zone to get to the very first trees. The owners of the farm still haven't been able to access an estimated 70% of the possible trees in the forest, as it is quite overgrown, full of steep ravines, and covered with ground leeches. They had just cut a simple motorbike road a week before we had arrived as the first guests.
These are the same owners of the green tea that I had offered in July- they are tea lovers and hobbyists, interested more in the lifestyle of tea making and farming than commercial tea production.
In this way this tea is "as good as it gets," and will surprise even those that only drink around the famous villages Yiwu mountain.
Vietnam has some widely overlooked tea, and though many of the old trees in the north are staggeringly pruned and stressed (to increase production), this forest has yet to be influenced by human hands, and the intentions of the owners are to keep it that way.
This is a great tea for meditation and going deep.
I cannot guarantee I will be able to get much more this year, we have 1kg total available.

Storage Instructions
Storage Instructions
Tea likes to be stored in an ambient temperature, away from light, and away from all other fragrant herbs, spices, etc. A designated drawer is good. You can also transfer your tea to a special clay jar for long term storage! If using glass, just make sure it's in a dark place, as the light can irritate Tea!
